Once you have selected the right combs, it is crucially important to clean your combs frequently and thoroughly.

  1. Use an old toothbrush to clean your comb.
  2. Use a mild washing detergent or shampoo on the comb and brush from the base of the teeth to their tips to remove the accumulated dirt.
  3. When you are finished brushing, soak your comb in hot water.
  4. Rinse off the comb and then dry it with a clean napkin. Your comb is good as new!

Keep in mind, even when you go for a hair cut or a salon service, always make sure that your hairstylist uses a clean comb to cut and style your hair.  For that matter, if it's ok with your stylist, why not request that your own personal combs be used when styling your hair.
