Disable S-Voice - system settings - tap on s-voice and deselct "open via the home key"
Reduce or eliminate all animations
unlock developer options by going to settings, tap on about device, tap on build number about 7 or 8 times.
Developer options should now be on. Go back to system settings and click on developer options.
Set window, transition and animator scales down to low or off.
Restart phone.
Turn off the lock screen effect. Go to system settings, lock screen, click unlock effect and set to none.
Uninstall or disable unwanted apps.
to find out what's running in the background, go to system settings, tap application manager, swipe over to the running tab.
Look for apps you may want to remove.
Then swipe to the "all" tab, find the app you want to uninstall or disable and tap uninstall or turn off
Optional - enable ART if your applications support it. go to system settings, developer options, tap select runtime system, select ART, then click OK to restart.
