If you are experiencing issues with VMWare causing your network to disconnect or you can no longer change your network settings in the Virtual Network Editor completely, do the following:

Stop all running VMs, gone to Home-Tab, selected Virtual Network Editor and did a "Restore Default". Then start the VMs again.
